Lamar County is a member of neighboring Joint Development Authorities and as such support the economic development programs of our neighbors and Georgia. Joint Authorities have been created to provide a additional state tax credits for locating in a community that is part of a joint authority.
We are a member of the West Central Georgia Joint Development Authority which includes Lamar, Pike and Upson Counties.
We are also members of a joint authority made up of Lamar, Butts, Spalding and Henry Counties along I-75.
Lamar County is also part of the I-75 Central Corridor Coalition, a marketing coalition to promote the counties from South Atlanta to Macon.
